PANTHER
PRIDE ANNUAL MEETING HELD
The Panther Pride Foundation for Central Schools marked another successful
year during its annual meeting in September. The Foundation wrapped
up its five-year fundraising campaign by successfully topping its $100,000
goal. The Foundation will continue to work hard to build its assets
through donations, bequests, and grants. Trustees wish to thank everyone
whose supports the Foundation and its mission to enhance educational
opportunities for Central students.
In the past year, PPF donated $4,000 in matching grants for a total
of $8,000 to help complete the transition for the new addition at Central
Junior High. As part of the Foundation's continuing effort to enhance
education, it contributed $3,000 to help fund 30 learning enhancement
grants for teachers and students. Some graduating seniors also received
$1,900 in scholarships through Panther Pride applications.
The Panther Pride Foundation is losing one of its founding trustees.
Harold Sickles stepped down as an active member during the annual meeting.
He's been with PPF since it formed in 1997. Harold spent much of his
career as a teacher and administrator in the Central School District.
He continued to volunteer his time to help the school even in retirement.
Harold will continue to serve as an adviser to the Foundation. PPF greatly
appreciates Harold's dedication and service over the past six years.
A new board member will be seated at the December meeting.
Current PPF trustees are Jim Bent, Bob Rhea, Gary Cantrell, Karen Eaton,
Lesa Markert, Pam Leffringhouse, Matt Schmidt, and Jerry Bartell.
