PANTHER PRIDE AWARDS GRANT MONEY
The Panther Pride Foundation for Central School has once again
teamed upwith the School Board to award almost $5,400 in technology
and learning enhancement grants this fall. Panther Pride gave $3,000
to
this year's round of grants that was able to fund 18 of 29 projects.
Learning Enhancement Grants included:
- $150 for Violence Prevention Curriculum Literature books for
kindergarten
- $500 for Touchphonics for Michelle Reed's Title 1 program
- $180 for recorder books for elementary/middle school music classes
- $204 for science microscopes and accessories for the 4th grade
- $250 for picture books for reading and writing at the junior high
- $300 for a factorium program at the Jr./Sr. High
- $173 for science microscopes for Julie Gille's 5th grade classroom
- $300 for novels for Gary Miller's 6th grade classroom
- $439 for Joining World of Work program for special education
Technology Integration Grants included:
- $253 for a Geo/Math Safari for Robin Meier's 5th grade classroom
- $73 for a laptop remote to run power point presentations in Gary
Miller's 6th grade classroom
- $614 for an accelerated math scanner at the elementary school
- $235 for Leap Frog reading/math program for Dara MacArthur's 1st
grade classroom
- $98 for Sight Word software for Michelle Reed's Title 1 program
- $469 for Reading Comprehension software in the 2nd grade
- $280 for Leap Frog accessories for Alison Dickhut's 1st grade
classroom
- $250 for Kindergarten Listening Center to Lorie Obert
- $615 for an accelerated math scanner at the middle school
These technology and learning enhancement grants are part of the
Panther Pride Foundation's continuing mission to enhance educational
opportunities for students of the Central School District.
