PANTHER PRIDE FOUNDATION RECEIVES GRANT MONEY

The Panther Pride Foundation for Central Schools was one of eleven organizations to receive funding this past fall from the Paul H. and Anne B. Gardner Memorial Fund.

Panther Pride was awarded $1300 to help upgrade the lighting of the high school auditorium. The Community Foundation of the Quincy Area oversees the Gardner Memorial Fund. Panther Pride applied for the grant money as part of the school's overall efforts to renovate the auditorium. The project began with a fundraiser to get new seats for the auditorium. The seats were purchased in 2003 from the Quincy Showcase Theater when it renovated.

Fundraising continues to cover other expenses of the renovation, including flooring, stage work, curtains, and other equipment. Currently the project is slated to begin this summer. The grant money from the Gardner Memorial Fund will cover the cost of new lightning, which will enhance annual Drama Club productions, award ceremonies, student assemblies, the PTO Lip Sync and other community programs.

Thank you to those who have supported the auditorium fundraiser to date, and if you'd still like to help, please contact the Superintendent's office.
